The national Fruit Fly Strategy 2020-25 and the National Fruit Fly Implementation Plan 2020-25 have been released. Please note that these documents are for the national strategy. The Victoria one is still under consultation. This Association has been an active contributor to the debate and we are fighting hard for continued government support in our fight against Qfly. ![]()

CDFGA members and guests took advantage of our close proximity to the border and enjoyed an informative and social evening at the Tocumwal Golf and Bowl Club in late October 2020.
Dan Ryan, the Director of the SITPlus program and Adrian Inglefield from Hort Innovation were on hand to meet with growers and to answer questions regarding all aspects of the SITPlus program. Cobram is in its second year of a 3 year SIT trial and, to date, the results have been excellent. Members were brought up to date on the program as it is now and how it may work in the future. It was great to meet in a social setting and to have the opportunity to talk freely about such an important tool in our fight against Qfly. Sincere thanks to the GMV Regional Fruit Fly Project and SITPlus who shared the costs and provided us with a great meal and chance to relax a little before the harvest kicks in. And not a mask in sight – yay! |
